Cold email (sending emails to new contacts) is a common approach to generate new business opportunities. It is cost effective and doesn’t demand a lot of your resource, although due to this, most inboxes are flooded with similar emails.

It is important to catch the readers attention and ensure your email does not appear to be a ‘sales message’. We have all trained ourselves to look for patterns in emails to quickly understand if they are worth our time in reading. If you can break this pattern, then there is more chance your email will be read and in turn solicit a response.

In addition to this, people are busy. Even if they read your first email they may simply forget to respond initially. This is why it is important to send multiple messages in one email thread. You should aim to have 3-4 steps in your email sequence.

Below are some examples that you could use.

Target Persona: Production Manager / Factory Managers

Subject Line: excel - production data

Body:

Hi [first name],

Using Excel to review your production data is time consuming, laborious, and tedious work.

But it's required. You need to report the numbers from the shop floor, identify bottlenecks and take action on the data you have available.

I am getting in touch as we typically work with companies who want to move away from excel and manual data collection. They want accurate shop floor data in real-time and want to use their time to focus on value added tasks.

We have a solution for this that won't break the bank and can be up and running in minutes.

Open for a chat about it?

Thanks,

This is one example based on an assumption that the company may still be using Excel. The same format can be used but with a focus on the other core challenges we look to solve:
