Even though Evocon is mainly an OEE and production monitoring solution, we have seen an increase in demand for displaying energy-related information together with production information.

Below is a short overview of how we solve this today for clients and the use cases/challenges clients have for it.

<aside> ⚒️ It’s important to note that the product direction in this field is still in development. We are listening to the client’s needs and analyzing which directions are general and which are specific before we commit to a longer roadmap on this.

<aside> ☝ Another note is that Evocon does not offer energy monitoring as a solution. We offer the possibility to combine energy-related information with productivity and output. For that, Evocon and the client must work together to find a solution to capture and send to Evocon that energy data.

How is energy information displayed in Evocon?

Today’s solutions address two different users – operators and analysts/managers.

In the first example, we display real-time information to operators so they can make better decisions on the shop floor and be mindful of energy use.

In the second example, we provide analysts and managers with the data to make decisions and report centrally on needed KPIs (more on that below).

1. Graph for operators in Shift View (user: operator)

kWh together with output (pcs per minute)

kWh together with output (pcs per minute)

In the example above, you can see how operators see energy-related information in Evocon. The middle part visualizes the production performance during the shift, while the graph in the top area displays kWh data (green line) together with output (pcs, orange line).

Even though this is a snapshot of a finished shift, then this is displayed in real-time.

Different ways the graph can be set up

The chart displayed above can be set up as needed by the client. So far, we have the following options:

  1. kWh/pcs – energy together with output
  2. kWh – only energy use (minute-by-minute)
  3. Total kWh – total kWh used during the shift
  4. kWh per x number of products

Total kWh used per shift

Total kWh used per shift

The main takeaway is that this chart is developed to be flexible so that we can customize it based on the need of the client.

2. Export as a custom report (user: management)
