Each company has their preferred way of buying computers or mobile devices. As different countries and companies may have better deals on computer hardware and local technical support is vital to keep devices running, Evocon does not sell computers or devices. That being said, this document outlines hardware suggestions that have worked for our customers.

We believe that good tools are essential. It is better to pay 100€-200€ more today than have the users waste time due to slowness and bad user experience for the next 3+ years.

Having a slow PC or tablet after one year of use while saving a few hundred euros today loses much more productivity, and operator willingness to insert data and reduces cooperation in the long run. It is just not worth it.

For a PC, buy a new or up to 2 years old PC.

• Get a Core i3, i5 or i9 or Ryzen processor. Avoid Intel Atom, Celeron and Core Duo.
• If you only run Evocon on that PC, 8GB RAM is enough. If other software is run on that PC, think about 16GB for future-proofing.
• FullHD (1080p, 1920x1080) monitor is a bare minimum. The diagonal size should be 24 inches or more.
  • Use a 4K monitor if more than 1 shift view should be shown on the monitor. These have come down in price a lot and cost around 300€. 4K monitor or TV is also a must for "grid view", where multiple shift views are shown at once.
• Ensure you get an SSD (not HDD) version with 128GB.
• DELL Optiplex Micro is a good option if you want a small computer.
  • The minimum specification will work if it is a model from the past 2 years. They cost 400..600€.
• For larger desktops, look at DELL Optiplex (not micro). They should be ~100€ cheaper just because they are bigger.

<aside> 💡 In Estonia, DELL has a great support network and this is the reason for the suggestions above. Other PC makers are also selling small PC-s and have support network in place will work as well.

For a tablet, we recommend Apple iPads.

• The current or last generation iPad (priced around 350€ new) has much more power than anything else on the market in the same price range. The user experience is excellent and snappy. It can be limited to only show Evocon as described below:

• Android tablets can be used, but our experience has shown that they are not as reliable and usability is not as great in the same price range.

  • Some examples of Android tablets that are used by our customers are Samsung Galaxy Tab A7

For a TV, these are the main 2 options:

TV with Android OS (Android TV)

• Many Android TVs do not come with Chrome as the default browser. Default browsers may not support tools and systems used by Evocon.
• It is possible to install the Google Chrome browser on Android TV and use it for Evocon by logging in at app.evocon.com.
• There is no Evocon application in the Play Store. Use a Google Chrome browser.
• We do not test Evocon on Android TVs and can not guarantee that the system works fully now and in the future.

Any TV + a device that can run Chrome

• This solution uses any TV with HDMI input and a PC or Raspberry PI computer to display Evocon.
• Older PCs that are not powerful enough for day to day work can be used for this purpose.
• Raspberry Pi version 5 and up is an option thanks to its small form factor, low price and enough power to show multiple Evocon views.
