Time restriction functionality for users with Shift View or Office role is necessary to ensure that historical production data will not be changed by operators intentionally or unintentionally. If the feature is on then operators can’t edit shift data over the set period of time (in days or shifts). For example, if the value is 3 days, then operators can edit shifts of today, yesterday and the day before yesterday. If the value is 1 shift, then the operator can only make changes to the last shift.

If the time restriction has not been set up, then the default setting will allow operators to make changes in Shift View as far back in time as they like.

Why use time restriction?

Because it is important to minimize ways of data manipulation. Based on our experience sometimes operators have the incentive to change data in hindsight. Time restriction limits the likelihood of this happening and ensures that administrators get accurate downtime and OEE information about their production process.

How to set it for Shift View and Office users?

Please note that the time restriction option is available only in case the user has read-write permissions on at least one station. Otherwise, they have read-only rights to all stations and can not edit data anyways.

  1. Firstly, go to Settings and open “Users” card.

  2. Add a new Shift View or Office user or edit an existing one.

  3. Open the role section (from the edit icon)

  4. Enable the “Time restriction for changing data” functionality by clicking on the toggle button. The toggle turns green when enabled.

  5. From the drop-down, select either days or shifts and enter the preferred time period.

  6. Click "Apply" and then “Save”.
